"Tess Column"

Dear Ones,

You may have noticed that we have some very active little ones in our services on Sunday mornings. The staff and committees have been talking about how to keep kids amused until they go to Sunday School.

Our idea is to have baskets containing two types of items that will not damage our beautiful church. To that end, we are looking for donations of **two--and only two--types of items.**

· Board books for little kids - the books with the thick pages - new or gently used items only, please.
· Magna doodles - small ones - kids can "draw" on them with a stylus and "erase" them, but there is no ink or crayon or anything.

We will set up bins to collect these items starting Sunday, November 22nd, through December. As soon as we have enough, we will set up a place for kids and parents to choose things to play with quietly, and always with adult supervision.

****Please do not donate anything but board books and magna doodles.****.
No coloring books, crayons, or markers (crayons on pews? no!), and please no playdough, clay, or silly putty. Anything else will be thrown away or passed on to others.

Thank you,

Rev. Tess

WomansPlace Holiday Donations

This year WomensPlace is short staffed and cannot support the generous gifts we have provided in the past.

This year we have been asked to donate either 1) GIFTCARDS or 2) New or almost New OUTDOOR WINTER-WEAR - all sizes boys and girls.

I have a RED BOX next to the Coffee Hour Signup sheet. If you want to purchase a gift card and put it in the box, please do so; OR there is a form under the box so you can mail in the gift card yourself. It has all the information on it you need.

Next Week - I will have a big box for the clothes. They have children from newborns to 18 year olds that all need clothing, as well as the mothers themselves. Gloves, jackets, snow pants, hats…..
I will collect the donations from each of these boxes on December 11th and deliver them to WomensPlace.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 774-284-0693.
Thank you - Jenn Gold

Handbells in Roxbury-Sunday, Nov. 15th at 4:00 pm

Our handbell choir will combine with the St. Mark Handbell Ringers at St. Mark Congregational Church, Townsend Street and Humboldt Avenue, Roxbury, for one of their annual joint concerts.

To reach St. Mark, go north on Route 138 to Mattapan and follow Blue Hill Avenue past Franklin Park to Seaver Street. Go left on Seaver Street and stay on right to take a right on Humboldt Avenue. St. Mark is ten streets down on the right. Just before the church, turn right on Townsend Street. An immediate left takes you to their parking lot behind the church. Note the time is 4:00 pm this year. See you there.
